Because best things in life aren't things.
Nostalgia was better in the old days
2 Originals and 2 remixes. Both songs have around a 30-year time difference between of the original and the remix.
Daydream was released in 1968 at height of Europop’s popularity by the Belgian Band, Wallace Collection. Despite its English lyrics, it had failed to achieve any success in the English speaking world.

Heavy sampling days of the late 90’s revitalized Daydream. This is the famous trip-hop remix of Daydream by I-Monster. If you were alive in the late 90’s and early 2000’s, it is impossible for you to have never heard of this tune.

She’s lost control was played for the first time in 1978 by the controversial band Joy Division. Punk rock was on its death bed and had “no future”. Minimal lyrics are about a girl having epileptic seizures. It is worth mentioning that the lead singer Ian Curtis was suffering from epilepsy and occasionally had seizures during concerts. From 1977 to Curtis’ suicide in 1980, Joy Division almost single-handedly placed post-punk and electronica on the mainstream and influenced many other genres from electro-clash to alternative rock.

D.Ramirez’s 2009 version of the post-punk classic. Still pessimistic but more suitable for the modern dance floors.

Loving the stuff about Joy Division here. If you like their music you’ll love Rivers of Sound. They’re giving away sample downloads at the moment, check it, I love ’em.
