Not to touch the earth
What an intense experience Symphonica is! The hypnotic first two and a half minutes, which i find really similar to Gui Boratto’s Anunciacion, is pure melodic synths on top of a straightforward bass-line. However, unlike Boratto, instead of giving the listener variations of more complex melodies, Cooper pumps up the bass with mechanic scratches only to return to the main soft and volatile melody towards the end of the song, giving the tune an intense yet fragile feeling.
Henry Saiz’s remix of Lamur is a fantastic build-up song for techno DJs. It’s very progressive, which I usually dislike, but when you have a decent melody and 10 minutes of raw energy build-up who cares about the genre?

Yo soy como soy
Mamihlapinatapai is a word from the Yaghan language of Tierra del Fuego, listed in The Guinness Book of World Records as the “most succinct word”, and is considered one of the hardest words to translate. It describes “a look shared by two people with each wishing that the other will initiate something that they both desire but which neither one wants to start.”
I’m back from a well needed vacation from Ibiza/Amsterdam and have lots of new tracks to share. These two songs were the songs I heard the the most in Bora Bora and Space Terraza during my stay. Both are very catchy and perfect summer anthems. Inspired by the almost-10-year-old Africanism movement in house music, Canoa is the ultimate cheerful beach tune of this summer. On the other hand, Soy Como Soy is much more aggressive and tense. However, the important thing is both songs achieve to get the crowds wild and keep the party rockin’.

All that you can’t leave behind
We are now on Hype Machine! Hello to HypeM community and hope you enjoy Résistance à la Mode.
Electronic songs that include raw live instruments tend to go much beyond the depths of generic tunes. Released in this May, Simon Hinter’s Take Care EP is very different and original compared to the mainstream.
Aki Latvamaki Remix is a fine blend between electronica and melodic house. Consistent beats guide the flowing melody and allows it to evolve into much deeper visual images. It is also the most mainstream tune compared to the rest of the release.
The Original version of Take Care is much more raw. The power of the live Instruments are felt much more intensely. Percussions are especially sublime. Unlike the remix, the bassline is calmer and this gives the song a more serious, mature feeling.
The B-side Mr.Blue is blunt acoustics combined with a cosmic Detroit house. A musical harmony achieved through chaos and dissonance.
