Confusion in her eyes that says it all
For the last couple of days I have been obsessively listening all three version’s(Original, Cecile Remix & Cerronza Remix) of Amari’s Tiger. There is some ineffable feeling of the chord progression of this electro indie track that makes it so appealing. Both the original and the Cerronza remix are no match for Cecile’s version, yet this doesn’t change the fact that both are brilliant. While the original has more of an indie rock feel (they have even managed to squeeze in a short guitar solo), Cerronza has transformed the experimental indie track into a more dance-floor friendly electro groove. Tiger’s retro Sci-Fi music video is also worth watching.

Just be
You’re only as young as the last time you changed your mind.
-Timothy Leary
Listening Cecile Remix of Tiger feels like staring into a fractal. The more you gaze into it, the more you see yet the less you know. It is too irregular to be easily described in traditional music jargon. Therefore I’m not even going to try. In my own language I want to call this newly emerging genre Kaleidoscope dance. This song uses the same formula as Caribou’s Odessa, a deep steady melody echoing with nonchalant vocals.

Norwegian producer Prins Thomas’ music has been called “space disco”. This is not true about Your Sweet Love. This one is more of a folk-sy indie rock rhapsody.

Remix of of James Murphy’s LCD Soundsystem. As far as I can tell there are no other downloads of this unreleased song around the blogosphere. Tiga has been opening his sets with this track for the last couple of weeks. We wanted a hit, Soulwax just delivered one.

Another marvelous gem from the Dewaele Brothers. The ultimate synth madness mixed with a beat that feels like a slap in the face, forcing every single part of one’s body to move and shake aimlessly.

The identity of the mysterious Mr Blink is currently unknown. Rumoured to be a well-known producer, Blink has so far turned up to each show in costume and is only contactable via email. All that is known about him is he was signed by Calvin Harris and he can make damn good music.
Gecko is a riotous nugget of pitch-bent electronica and rave-y stabs. If people still made vinyl records it would be the A-side, and if people still worked in those kinds of dance music shops that your uncle/older brother/dad used to frequent, they’d likely describe it as proper good.

A hen is only an egg’s way of making another egg.
Leading off Caribou’s impressive new full-length, the swirling, infectious “Odessa” neatly reflects bandleader Dan Snaith’s goal of making “dance music out of water.” If you want to call “Odessa” indie-dance or something, go ahead, but truth be told something this original won’t be easily subsumed under any sort of genre-mashup nomenclature. The ghost of Arthur Russell is in party mode, everywhere from the sweetly naive melody to the track’s dense, kitchen-sink production aesthetic that mixes multiple live-drum loops with electronic samples.

At the moment while all of Ed Banger’s big guns are dormant, its underdogs, Breakbot and Mickey Moonlight, are on fire. Baby I’m yours is a fabulous blend of disco and electro. It’s very Ed Banger and very retro. Love Pattern is very similar to Moonlight’s previous EP Interplanetary Music. A remix of Interplanetary Music can be found here. Also we have featured Breakbot’s Kavinsky release here.

These Swedish kids are synthesizers on steroids. It’s really hard to believe Stay Ali’s all 3 members , Bård, Johan and Elias, were born in 1991. Their music sounds like “…they are the
younger siblings of people who had great taste in electronic dance music,
and while they were enjoying an evening filled with the joy of Kraftwerk
and the likes, they let their kids play 8bit computer games. And now, the
kids are doing seriously messed up things with the ensuing sound trauma.”

Moguai feels like Oliver Huntemann for the masses. Imperial is perfect example of how small details can turn 3 notes into into a fantastic song. Listen to the song and try to image it without the releases and stresses of the melodic rhythm; What you have left is simply nothing.
